Julia is a doctoral candidate at the Oxford Centre on Migration, Policy and Society. Holding two BAs in Political Science and African Studies, and an MA in Social Theory, her research lies at the intersection of political sociology and political theory. Julia's doctoral thesis focuses on the role of citizenship in contexts of migration and aims at reassessing eurocentric concepts of citizenship by situating citizenship in global structures of status and class. She is doing her empirical work in Ghana interviewing return migrants.
