Yunas is Professor for South Asian Studies and Director of Politics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences and is also an Emeritus Professor at Bradford University. He holds a DPhil in History from St Antony’s College, Oxford University. His main areas of interest are transnationalism, ethnicity, nationalism, Islam and identity politics in the South Asian diaspora and South Asia. Yunas has extensive experience in social policy analysis related to migration, multiculturalism and social cohesion. He advises a number of European governments on issues related to South Asia and the diaspora and has published extensively in this area including several books.

Yunas’s responsibilities within MIGNEX include policy review in Pakistan, exploratory multi-level analyses of migration processes and development outcomes and analysis of the effects of migration processes on development outcomes.
